Carnies, Camo and $1.00 bills!

Last weekend John and I ran our Paintball Booth at the Annual Sportshow. We debated on whether or not we were going to do it this year because it is such a pain and a LONG, HARD weekend. But we decided that we have a broken leg to pay for and the extra cash would come in handy. Nana came down to take care of the girls for the weekend. All the girls were sick! What fun! But, being sick makes them slow down and take lot's of naps-so overall it probably was a great weekend for her to watch them! As tradition would have it, each year we plan for this ONE weekend, John makes sure he has it scheduled with work and that we will be able to have it all set up by the time the show starts at 4 o'clock on Friday afternoon. But every year, an emergency comes up at work! Nothing else happens for the other 364 days of the year, but on Paintball Booth Friday, something always comes up at the last minute to make setting up STRESSFUL!!! But we finally got it up and everything went smooth for the rest of the weekend. Really, it was probably the smoothest weekend we've ever had! On Saturday the show is open from 9am-9pm. It is a LONG day! Especially for prego me! But we made it! Our booth basically consists of: two paintball guns on tables, some targets hanging down inside of two tents, and you get 10 paintballs for $1.00. It's amazing how much money you can make one dollar at a time! The one thing I hate is that the show is on Sunday too. That is our one day a year that we skip church. I hate it! But, they won't let us be in it if we don't stay through Sunday. So we just suck it up and do it! So on Sunday about 2 o'clock, these two guys came up and were talking to John, just about paintball and such. These guys just kept hanging around for like an hour. They just kept talking and had a lot in common. The guy asked John if he had always lived here and he said yes except for a couple of years that he lived is L.A. The guy asked why he lived there and John told him that he was on a mission for our church. The guy got a big grin and said "Are you LDS?" "Yeah" john replied. "Me too!" the guy said! Come to find out this guy, Jason, was from CA and had served his mission in Salt Lake City! He and the other guy were just in town for a couple of days with work. They had nothing better to do that day, so I asked them if they wanted to come over for dinner. Of course they accepted our offer. But, I had ulterior motives-you see, they were big strong guys, and if they hung around until the show was over they would probably help us take the booth down and put it in the truck. My little plan worked! Although John did 99% of the work, I didn't have to do anything! Yeah me! So they came over for dinner. Mom made fried chicken and we had a good meal! They hung around 'till around 11:00. They were really nice guys. So all and all we had a successful weekend! Hopefully next year will be just as smooth!
