I had my 14 week checkup this week. Everything is progressing perfectly. Blood pressure-great, blood work-excellent, baby's heart beat sounds strong, I even lost 3 pounds. But, I don't think I really lost 3 lbs, I had on different clothes (lighter) and I was weighed on a different scale than last time. The Doc questioned me on the weight a little bit. "Don't worry" I assured him. "The weight is coming. Oh boy is it coming!". I usually hardly gain anything in the beginning. Then I'll go for my 6 month check up and I will have gained about 10 lbs. (in one month). Then when I go back for my 7 month check up-10 lbs more! Then for my 8 month check up-10 lbs more! Then I'm usually done gaining for the rest of the pregnancy. At least that's how the last 3 pregnancies have been. I haven't gained any weight yet, but I have had to transition over to my maternity clothes. I would rather look pregnant than fat! I like this stage of being pregnant. I have my prego belly, but the rest of me hasn't exploded yet! I joke that by month 9 my finger tips and nose even look pregnant...it's not really a joke because they do! I go back on March 10 for my 18 week check up. The Doc said he would like to wait until I'm 20 weeks to do the ultrasound. But I think I'm going to call him back and go ahead and schedule it for that day. We can hardly wait to see what this little alien is! Stephens #4, So Far, So Good!Saturday, February 14, 2009
