Workin' Hard!

I was inspired by an episode of "Wife Swap" on ABC last week. This family had four kids and they had this system for doing chores to earn privileges. I saw that on just the right day! I was completely worn out from trying to keep up with everything all by myself. So when I saw this system I knew I had to try to implement it in some way with my girls! It has been AWESOME!!! I made a chart with about 20 different chores and also things like having good manners, brushing their teeth, sleeping in their own bed etc. I also have a list of rewards/activities such as TV shows, computer time, Popsicles, cash etc. Each chore has a "PENNY" value. Some are 1 penny, 5 pennies or 10 pennies. The rewards are also different values. Using the markers is 2 pennies, but going to a friends house is 20 pennies. It has been working so great! Today, Lake sorted my laundry, I folded it, and Summer put it ALL away! All my laundry done in 1 day and I'm still awake to write this blog! They are enjoying doing these chores (mostly), and SOOO much more is getting accomplished! They are learning to budget their pennies and work for what they want! I could not be more EXCITED about the results of this little system! It's amazing how much can get accomplished when everyone helps out!

Lake liked vacuuming the living room! Right when she turned off the vacuum, she ran over the cord, so it made a funny noise that surprised her!

Summer put away clothes for 45 minutes!
