We took a day off from playing at the lake to can some green beans! Nana helped me do my "first ever" canning!
My Uncle Duck plants a beautiful garden every year and let's us have as much as we want!
Pawpaw, Summer and I went and picked green beans for 2 hours in the HOT July sun! It was hot and sweaty, but we got 8 bags full!
We took them back to Nana and Pawpaws to snap them!
Lake and Summer really worked hard (for several hours) and helped us snap all the green beans!
It was a long day from beginning to end, but we did it!
We got about 40 quarts of home canned green beans! Lake couldn't wait to eat some! Now that we have the room, we are really trying to build up our food storage! These will be a great addition! I never realized how much work my Mom was doing all summer in that hot, steamy kitchen...what a chore! But they sure do taste better!
