We had a relaxing 4th of July this year! We usually watch the fireworks at the lake from the boat, but this year John had to work on the 3rd (the night that they do the fireworks) so we headed up to the farm late that night when John got off work. We slept in at the farm and kinda "lazed" around during the day. In the evening we headed to the park. We grabbed dinner at the local restaurant and took our picnic out to the park. There is always free hot dogs, drinks, watermelon and Popsicles, but we wanted to make sure we had dinner. So we feasted on huge cheeseburgers! We had to get there early enough to claim our spot or we would be sitting behind a tree! As soon as we got done eating it started to rain! The kids were mad and freaking out! "THE FIREWORKS ARE CANCELLED" they wailed! It rained for about 3 minutes! So the show did go on! While we waited for it to get dark the kids played on the playground and with our camera! On Saturday night we had a private fireworks show in Nana and Pawpaws' driveway! The kids have fun watching Daddy be a pyromaniac lunatic! AAHHH Boys! We love the 4th of July! I love the music and the patriotism of the holiday! I sure am grateful to live in such a wonderful country! God Bless America!
