Our Little Mathematician!

Summers school is always doing fundraisers and wanting money for something, so I’m never excited when I see new ones come home. The newest one is a “Math-a thon” for St. Judes Hospital. It is a Pediatric cancer hospital in Memphis. It really is a wonderful cause! Summer was really excited and wanted to do it. Since we do get bombarded with this kind of stuff, I didn’t quite share in her enthusiasm. How it works is that the kids get people to pledge and amount (. $.5, $.10, $.25 etc ) per math problem. There are 250 problems in the workbook, so if someone pledges $.10 per problem it would be a $25.00 pledge etc. Summer brought home the workbook yesterday afternoon. While I was looking at it this morning, I realized that she only has about 15 problems left in the whole book! I don’t even know when she did it! This kid loves MATH! She caries math workbooks with her in the car, takes them to church with her, writes and completes her own problems, ALL THE TIME! So anyways, we will be supporting this fundraiser for her. If it helps her get even more excited for schoolwork then we’re ALL FOR IT! So, if anyone else would like support her in this just let us know!
