Homeschool Testing Day

(Mabry, Jenna Summer, Alley, and Alisha)
By law, each year, Summer is required to take the IOWA Test. It is a standardized test that measures what she has been learning and makes sure that she is progressing in her education. Our homeschool group takes it all together at a local church and the children are split into grade levels and the test is administered as any ACT or Benchmark test would be. (Chloe, Kieven and Olivia)
It only takes one morning and we are done by lunch time. Lake, being in public school (kindergarten), had 4 DAYS of standardized testing! Summer took her test with her friends, no pressure and had fun doing it!

(Cameron, J.C., Tucker and John)
Afterwards we all went to McDonalds for lunch and then bowling! The kids had a fun, rewarding day together and met their requirements.

Each year I am nervous to see the results of the tests. I want to make sure that she is learning what she needs and that we haven't missed anything. She did great last year. But this year she did even better! This was her 4th grade year-she tested at 6th grade level for Reading and 8th grade level for Math! What a little smarty pants she is! We sure are proud of Summer and we sure love our little group of homeschool friends!
