Tea Anyone?

WARNING: POLITICAL RANT AHEAD!

On April 15, 2009, John and I went to our First Government Protest! AAWWWW! We went to the local "Tea Party" at the courthouse. There were about 500 people there! That's more than we expected. If you don't know what a "Tea Party" is SHAME ON YOU! You need to wake up and brush up on you current events!!! It is not an Anti-Obama rally, it's an "anti-stupid government" rally. It's based on the Boston Tea Party. We are T-axed, E-nough, A-lready! Get it...T.E.A.! We are being taxed to death and they just keep printing more money! We are headed down a very dangerous path and our government doesn't seem to care that they are selling us out! The thing that surprised me the most was that it was mostly older people. Where are all of the young people?! The old people are going to die off and WE are going to be the ones left with a REAL MESS!

John and I were standing right in front of some Obama supporters who were kind of heckling the crowd. I don't think they were even listening to what was being said. What a bunch of ignorant people they were. Anyway, the news crew set up right behind us to get footage of them. This lady came up and told off the news anchor for not paying attention to the real reason that all these people were here-the Tea Party! So then the news lady got her camera all set up and ready to start filming the antagonists. John, as you can see in this picture, was holding this large "Title of Liberty" flag out in front of him. Just when the girl got the camera all set and ready to go, John shifted the flag over his shoulder, completely blocking any angle that the camera could get! Normally I would get on to him for being ornery and rude, but I just ignored it this time! The girl finally just packed it up and left. It was pretty funny! At the rate our country is going, I would say this will probably be the first of many of these types of things that we will be attending. It was fun and felt a little empowering just to be there. Maybe America will wake up before it's too late!
