The Good 'Ol District Fair

We're not usually "Fair Goers" but this year we branched out! Grammy is always involved in judging and other stuff with the fair so she gets us free tickets. It not thrilling enough for us to pay to get in. So anyway, we dropped off Sky at Grammy's house on Monday night and went to the free concert that they were having. The guy was Chuck Wicks-he's a country singer. I had seen him when I took my Mom to go see Brad Paisley for Christmas. He had opened for Brad. I only knew a couple of his songs, but BOY! What a CUTIE! John wasn't real impressed! The girls thought it was exciting for about the first 5 songs and then they had had enough. So we headed off to look around the fair. It was a beautiful, crisp night. Just PERFECT! The kids were a little disappointed because we didn't go on any rides. But we are really "Thrill Ride Snobs"! And I was not about to pay $8 for them to go on 1 ride! No Way! We're going to Branson in October-They can wait!

Waiting for the concert to start!

Later in the week we joined Lake and Miss Dana's preschool class with their annual fair field trip.

Emma, Shay, Lake and Kannon

These are two of Miss Dana's FIRST EVER preschool class! Tanner was not feeling well so his mom, Miss Dana, let him stay home and come to the fair. Summer was excited to have someone there her own age! I can't believe how grown up they are!

Lake had fun hanging around with her friend Emma Calvin. She came all the way from Utah just to go to the fair! Okay, not really, it was just good timing!

The big industrial fan was a big hit! They had fun screaming into it and hearing how their voice sounded. Sad to say, my child was by far the LOUDEST!

Here's Miss Dana and all her students and even some Alumni!

Last but Not Least...

Grammy helped the girls make grape jelly to enter into the fair! They helped pick the grapes out of Grammy's back yard, strained the juice and made jelly! They each got a 2ND place red ribbon! I guess they would have gotten a first place ribbon if the jar was more full! I had NO idea that they were that intense about judging jelly, but I guess they are! But the girls were excited to show it off with the pretty red ribbons!

They also each got a $1.00 check for there prize money! When Summer heard that they got to go pick up a check, we couldn't get there fast enough! When it was only for a buck she was a little ticked off! Spoiled rotten kids! But next year she wants to enter a bunch of different things and try to make some real cash!
