What a DAY I've Had!!!

Everything started out just fine! I jumped up at 6:45, sneaked out of the house and went for my run then lifted weights! Then I headed into the house for a quick shower. While I was in the shower, John took Summer and Lake with him to Wal-Mart to change the oil in the car. I started the laundry and got Sky up from her bed and fed her breakfast. When John and the girls arrived back home the girls were very excited and John was a little flustered! When John got to the store, he had to check into the automotive area, so he told the girls that they could go look at toys (which is right next to it). By the time he made it into the store the girls had already bought some orange pop, face paint and silly string! Doesn't that just sound like a recipe for disaster?! Summer had taken her purse, not just with money in it-but with both of their savings account BANK BOOKS in it. So of course, after they got home and started showing me their smuggled loot, Summer realizes that she only has 1 bank book! So back to Wal-Mart John and Summer race! Luckily, someone had found it and turned it in. I have been so busy this summer running around with the kids that our house is slipping farther and farther down hill. So once a week I try to do a marathon day of laundry, mopping, bathrooms, GOOD vacuuming etc. Sometimes this day works great-the girls do their chores, play nicely and help out as much a they can! Today was NOT one of those days!!! John left for work and it was a fight all day long! It was me trying to get the girls to help and the girls fighting with each other! If they weren't fighting they were making another mess somewhere else. I finally let them go outside and play with their silly string. They were outside for quite a while, which was nice and quiet! When I went to check on them they had both jumped in the pool with their clothes on. So here they are soaking wet. Now they want to do their face paint. OK fine, just don't make a mess... YEAH RIGHT!

Yikes!
Guess what-Face paint washes off of skin and out of clothes, but it DOESN'T wash off of concrete! We scrubbed and scrubbed and our sidewalk has blue hand prints all over it. So now I have to give these two STINKERS a bath! While I was bathing them, Sky woke up from her nap. She kept coming into the bathroom with suckers! I don't know where she was finding them. I kept taking them away and throwing them in the trash. But every time she came back in she had a new one! AAHHH! So now sticky Sky needed a bath! Time to cook dinner! Cooked dinner, fed the kids, and popped them in a video so I could get a little peace. I folded clothes for a while then we read scriptures and Summer fell asleep. 1 down, 2 to go! I was pretty worn out from my day, so I decided to sit down and veg in front of the computer for a while. Lake was watching a video and Sky was just playing around the house. After a few minutes of quiet, I decided to go check on Sky. I looked in her bedroom, Summer and Lakes room, my room, both bathrooms-No Sky! I looked again this time checking in the closets and under the beds-NO Sky! I checked again this time in the cabinets and garage-NO SKY! Where could she be?! Did I not drain the bathtub? Did she choke on one of those stupid suckers? Did she suffocate with a plastic bag? Did someone come in and take her? Oh My Gosh! Oh My Gosh! Oh My Gosh! I called John and told him I couldn't find Sky. Lake and I are running through the house screaming her name at this point. No sound anywhere! Finally I go back into Summer and Lakes room, look UP and see this...

She was just chillin' in the top bunk! She didn't make a sound when I had been in there the first 5 times! She likes to climb up to the top bunk, but she can't get down, so she just stays there!

Maybe it was just her own special little way to top off Mom's day with a heart attack! Some days I think my children might really be TRYING to drive me crazy! I'm going to bed...after I finish folding the clothes that are covering it!
